Things are starting to heat up between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson. At least, when it comes to racing on Sundays that is. These two NASCAR frenemies keep getting into one another on the race track. Will we see things escalate again this week?

It is no secret that Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson race each other hard. They are two fiery competitors who have their eyes set on winning on a weekly basis. They both happen to be two of the best drivers in the Cup Series, too.

While Larson wants to move on from their latest spat, he mostly wants respect on the track.

“Where I’m at I think, you know, Nashville’s is really the first time that I’ve got to, you know, I feel like in my mind, show that I’m over it,” Kyle Larson said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “Or like over the way that I’ve been raced. Now going forward I think I’m ready to move on, I’ve got zero issue at this point. I would like a little bit of respect on the race track and a little bit more room than maybe I’ve been given.

“Yeah, I think if we do that we can go back to racing fair and challenging each other fairly for wins. … I think that we are the two top teams in the sport right now so we’re going to be battling for a lot more wins together and all that throughout the races and all that.

“So, I’ve enjoyed racing him in the past, it’s just we’ve had a few run-ins. Like I said, I’m ready to just move on and go back to having fun racing each other. Nashville is what it is and like I said, ready to move on.”

Between races at Kansas, Pocono, now Nashville – it’s been often. Larson is right, they are two of the top teams, if not 1-2 in the Cup Series right now. So, they have more opportunities for incidents coming.

Still, Kyle Larson is ready to push past it and get back to racing.

“I think that’s where, yeah, I’m at now,” Larson explained. “I mean, to move on from it you kinda gotta forget about past history and I’m willing to do that. I’m going racing on my part, so yeah, we’ll see how it all goes from here on forward.”

Do you think this rivalry gets worse or better as the playoffs approach?
