Former N.CUS’ member Soon aka Nam Seung Hyun shocks fans with girlfriend announcement | K-pop Movie News

Nam Seung Hyun, formerly known as Soon from the boy group N.CUS and a contestant on ‘My Teenage Boy: Fantasy Boys’, recently set off a wave of reactions among fans, particularly in Japan, by publicly acknowledging his relationship. The stir began on July 4 when eagle-eyed netizens discovered Soon’s social media posts featuring his girlfriend, complete with shared photos and matching Instagram bios.

The revelation quickly went viral, garnering over 2 million views and sparking varied responses from fans. Many expressed disappointment and frustration, feeling blindsided by the sudden disclosure on a platform they closely follow. Comments ranged from critiques like “It’s gross to do this on an account your fans follow,” to questions about his previous commitments and promises.

In response to the uproar, Nam Seung Hyun issued a public statement addressing the situation. He clarified that during his time on ‘Fantasy Boys’, he was single and focused solely on his idol aspirations. After parting ways with his agency, he met his girlfriend, and they are now contemplating marriage. He expressed regret for not disclosing this earlier and acknowledged the impact of his actions on fans who supported him through his idol journey.

“Hello, this is Nam Seung Hyun. I apologize for causing concern to the fans regarding the current controversy. I would like to address the situation and the misunderstandings. Firstly, during the filming of ‘Fantasy Boys’, I did not have a girlfriend. I was genuinely dedicated to the program, dreaming of becoming an idol again. I worked hard, motivated by the love and support from the fans, and I tried to reciprocate that love.

Currently, my contract with the agency has ended. I am now a regular person who no longer dreams of becoming an idol. I met my girlfriend after the program ended, and we are seriously discussing marriage. I hope you can refrain from making excessive speculations about my girlfriend, who is a regular person like myself.

As a trainee, I thought it was necessary to inform the fans that my contract with the agency had ended and that I was no longer pursuing the dream of becoming an idol. I believed it was a responsible situation. Due to my mistake of not mentioning my girlfriend, it has led to the current situation. I apologize for the disappointment. Thank you for your support until now. Your support helped me endure tough times.”

This statement aimed to clear the air and set the record straight, emphasizing his gratitude to fans while acknowledging the need for better communication moving forward.
